Turning Point of the American Civil War

The American Civil war was fought between the years 1861 and 1865. Disagreements between Northern States and Southern states caused the South to secede from the North and form it's own nation. In response, the North created an army to forcefully bring America back together. Their army was known as the Union. The Union rivaled the army of the South, the Confederates. The Battle of Gettysburg is argued to be the turning point of the entire war. From this battle, the Union was able to reunite the country.
